Here we have tried to mention a little about the staff of HITEK, we are still expanding and will update this page as our new driver Gary joins us and when additional sales and engineering staff join us. These are the people who make the company one of the most successful calibration business' in the UK.
Grant Shapland General Manager, Technical Director & Quality Manager
Grant has been with the company for some 17 years, and has personally known the past directors Martin Kulin and Nikki Lond for over 35 years having worked with Martin in his early apprentice years. Grant has a wealth of technical experience in broad range engineering industries, His hobbies include F1 car racing, DIY and computing together with supporting the local church community and general handy man advice to just about all who ask.
Vanessa Martin Int Sales Manager
Vanessa joined HITEK with a wealth of experience in the customer service industry including alarms, aerospace and security. She originally joined HITEK in a sales support role and due to a vacancy applied for the sales role. She has made a marvellous effort and continues to lead the internal sales department. Her hobbies include joining her partner in Harley Davidson tours with her main mission in 2008 being to pass her driving test.
Trudy Griffin Ext Sales Manager
Trudy joined the company in December 2007, with a 20 year history in the calibration industry. She brings with her an insiders view of the industry and her aim in 2008 is to meet as many of our clients as possible. Trudy's hobbies are also in the biking world and her grand children.
Sean King Laboratory Manager
Sean joined HITEK as an apprentice 7 years ago. He whizzed through his OND and HND, then tried his hand at sales support but decided to stay in a technical role, but always with a client support slant. Sean became the UKAS Technical Manager a few months ago and now starts 2008 having been promoted to Lab Manager and is proving well up to the position. Sean has, like Grant, re-plumbed and re-wired his house and is now turing his hand to most types of DIY.
David White Lab Supervisor
David joined HITEK 5 years ago and like Sean did his OND and HND with flying colours. David took it upon himself to learn the RF and Microwave instrumentation and has become our technical leader in this field. We are very proud of him. David's hobbies are socialising and cars.
Jeff King Electro Mechanical Specialist
Jeff came to HITEK some 8 years ago, after doing his apprenticeship in the motor trade. We needed an expertise with the mechanical and non electrical work and Jeff was our man. He has proved most valuable and he has also picked up a vast knowledge in the electronics field. Jeff has shown strong support to Martin and Grant when they design in-house equipment especially in the wind and pressure area. His hobbies again are his dog, Benson and renovating his house.
Talha Butt Junior Engineer
Talha joined us in the autumn of 2007 as a part qualified engineer and is now doing his HND like Sean and David. He has made tremendous progress in the few months he has been with us and is proving already a very capable young engineer. We are sure he will go on to greater things. Tahla's main hobbies are judo (black belt), socialising and helping his family in their business.
Jonathan Grainger Calibration Engineer
Jonathan has been with us for almost a year now, after qualifying with a degree at Guildford University. We are his first engineering job and Jonathan has proved to be an excellent member of the team, bringing a tremendous technical knowledge with him. His hobbies are cycling and games consoles.
Tom Duforest Service Administrator
Tom came from the retail trade wanting more business to business experience, something which he has certainly found at HITEK. Tom's such an all rounder, there really is very little he can't turn his hand to. He brings calm to the office. Tom's hobbies are fitness, football, socialising and programming.
Gary Berwick Driver & Stores
Gary joined HITEK early in 2008, he brings to HITEK a wealth of experience in the transport industry having worked for TNT and similar transport companies. Once we get to know Gary more we will be able to enhance the script here...watch this space	TBA
Gill Murrell Accounts Assistant.
Gill joined HITEK in the autumn of 2007. She had semi-retired but decided to come back part time to stretch her brain again, something we at HITEK have certainly helped her to do. She has a great fun personality and has quickly become part of the office furniture. Her hobbies include reading, walking and her family.

Andy Reynolds External programmer
You may wonder why we include Andy here, even though he is self employed working for several other clients, he has spent so much time with us making made such a difference to the information technology at HITEK, that we treat him as one of the family. Never a week goes by when we don't speak to him, usually to ask for an extra facility! He never moans and always responds, he participates in all the parties and meetings. He has helped make HITEK even more of a force to be reckoned with, we are positive no other company can offer its clients such state of the art calibration information. Andy's hobbies are, would you believe, serous computer gaming and building a full size hovercraft.
