Pull Test and mV Drop Test Specifications

This Crimp Pull and Voltage drop converter is free of charge to use on-line to our clients. The program calculates cable sizes up to 10 mm square.

We have checked and proved this program works in accordance with the BS specification BS6516 Pt2 and its use is on the understanding that we take no responsibility for any errors.

Number of strands:
Diameter of each strand: mm

Test 1: Cross Sectional Area: mm squared
Pull Test newtons
 
Test 2: mV Drop Test Current: A
Max Contact Resistance milli ohms
Max Voltage Drop mV

Instructions for using this program.

A) In the “Number of strands:” box, enter the number of strands in your cable
B) In the “Diameter of each strand:” box, enter the diameter of one strand as measured by a micrometer and then press “calculate”.
C) The answer for the pull will be displayed for the pull test in Newton’s
D) The answer for the mV drop across the crimp joint will be displayed in mV
